How to Innovate Without Using Technology

What are you doing in your practice to innovate? I don’t just mean when it comes to technology. Yes, technology is incredible and it’s allowing people to be more efficient, but you can be innovative without having to rely on technology.

Sometimes I wish I was still a Realtor; smartphones, social media, and “the cloud” give agents tools that help them move quicker and connect with more people more frequently. But I didn’t have any of these conveniences and I still managed to innovate.

For instance, Ty’s 35 was innovative. I created and implemented a unique system and it had an incredible effect on my business. Think about the pizza box. There is no technology involved in pizza delivery. Delivering pizza doesn’t seem innovative but the response from clients was incredible. Just like delivering pizza, the rest of the items in Ty’s 35 are simple but unique techniques that helped me provide top-notch service to my clients.

I know what some of you are thinking… “Tyler, it’s not really THAT innovative.” But I have to disagree. I executed, I was consistent, I saw the reaction from my clients and I used that as inspiration for more ideas. When my business started to take off, I realized that it was because I was innovating.

Agents often ask me, “What trends are you seeing in the real estate space?” I gotta be honest, I’m not really seeing any trends. And now is the best time to execute and think outside the box!

So my question to you is: What are you doing to innovate?

It’s ok if you aren’t doing anything but what do you wish you were doing? It doesn’t have to be about technology. What are you TRYING to do? Failures are totally ok!
